About Island Skill Gathering
Located at the base of world famous Diamond Head on the Island of Oahu and up the street from Waikiki Beach, Island Skill Gathering is on the corner of Kanaina Avenue and George Street - between Kapahulu and Monsarrat Avenues. ISG's Office is in a handicap accessible white house with green trim surrounded by a black stone wall and plumeria and coconut trees.
ISG Mission Statement
ISG provides training and counseling to people who experience disability. ISG has the overall goal of facilitating the learning of independent living skills which empower people to create a life situation of their own choice. ISG seeks to inspire people with disabilities to discover solutions of assistive technology while serving as a role model; a trusted mentor and end-user of technology. And in the process of providing support services and product sales, ISG seeks to generate financial gain for the company and the employed service providers.
ISG Philosophy
ISG is guided by the notion that disability is simply another expression within the continuum of life, and everyone is worthy and ought to be given an opportunity to become productive, successful, and financially comfortable -- however defined by each person, without judgement of measure.
